Nebula started with a conversation that wasn't supposed to be about quotations.
We were speaking with interior designers about their businesses, and one topic kept taking over. Not design. Not clients. Quotes.
"It takes me half a day."
"One wrong formula and my margin is gone."
"By the time I send it, the client has already spoken to someone else."
We heard versions of this so many times that we couldn't ignore it. So we decided to build something for it.
What we believed from the start
A quote is not paperwork. It's the first real thing a client receives from a studio, and it's where they decide whether to trust you with their space and their budget.
A designer already has the floor plan. That should be enough to get started. Nobody should have to rebuild the same spreadsheet for every project.
And technology should do the typing, not the deciding. Rates, margins and the final number belong to the designer.
The hard part
Building Nebula was not the hard part. Getting it right was.
We rebuilt screens more times than we'd like to admit. We learned how differently every studio prices a room. We learned that GST on a quote is simple until it isn't.
The hardest lesson came after it worked. Designers would say, "This is nice. But I'm used to Excel." They were right. Excel is familiar, and a familiar struggle can feel safer than a new tool.
We don't have a big marketing budget to argue with that habit. What we have is a product that works, and the patience to show it to one studio at a time.
What Nebula does today
You upload a floor plan, and Nebula drafts a room-by-room BOQ. You price it in the Quote Builder, with GST worked out. You design your quote PDF in Preview so it looks like your studio. You send a link your client can open on their phone, to accept, ask a question or chat. And everything, from the first quote to the invoice, stays in one place.
